Skinny Caramel Apple Recipe

12 Oct

I am currently experiencing fall fever.  This self-diagnosed condition is rather serious.  Side effects include the uncontrollable urge to wear scarves, ingest anything pumpkin flavored and do strenuous outdoor activities you would typically detest.  And in my case, it also includes cravings for delicious fall drinks!

I'm feeling sooo "Martha Stewart" right now!

Since my favorite fall drink is apple cider, I decided to experiment with some recipes and create my own low-cal version of an apple cider cocktail.  Check it out!

Skinny Caramel Apple

Ingredients

1.25 oz Captain Morgan Rum (75 cal)

2 oz 100% Apple Cider (30 cal)

1 tbs Smucker’s Sugar Free Caramel Syrup (45 cal)

Directions

In a shaker of ice, add rum, apple cider, and a large (or oops, extra large) squirt of caramel syrup.

Shake vigorously and pour in a large mug with ice.

If you prefer a warm apple cider drink, heat the mug for a couple minutes in the microwave!

Nutritional Information

One serving has about 150 calories.  Just be easy on the caramel syrup…

If you decide to give this recipe a try, I would love to hear some feedback on what you think!  Does anyone have other healthy fall cocktail recipes!?  Share them with me!
